  • Why are oysters important to the health of the Bay?
Oysters are a natural filtration system. In fact, one adult oyster filters 50 gallons of water a day! Oysters help keep our Bay fishable and swimmable but they are very susceptible to harm through natural or manmade disasters, and constantly face habitat loss. The more we all know about oysters and their value to our local ecosystem, the better we'll all be for it! All oyster shell from the festival will be recycled and returned to Galveston Bay - help us make habitat! Find out more about our Oyster Shell Recycling Program.
  • Are only oysters being served?
No! This is an Oyster & Seafest. Restaurants will have a variety of seafood dishes available!
  • Is my ticket refundable or transferable?
Sorry, tickets are non-refundable, but they are fully transferable but it's up to you to forward your ticket to your new best friend. If you can't make it, and can't find someone else to go, please consider your purchase a donation and know we're grateful!
  • I have a shellfish allergy. What should I do?
Don't eat shellfish! While we don't know for sure, it's safe to assume anything served at the festival could have shellfish in it, but we encourage you to ask individual chefs for more information about their dishes. If in doubt, we want you to play it safe and enjoy the party from beginning to end!
